White With 1 Challenge = Marsala

So I decided to Join in with the white with 1 challenge site this month's colour for July Is Marsala.... This colour seemed a little challenging, but I raided my stash and found an old collection called Indian Summer by Basic Grey and some Jo Sonja Paint Rose Gold  that was very close to the colour as I could get. I also found this filigree Frame in my stash which wasn't the colour I needed, so I painted it and Distressed it with the sand paper and hence the page flowed from there, I think im happy with how it turned out.

Im in this photo with my husband out at the Titanic Restaurant in Melbourne, Decided not to journal on this page much, And the Bling on the Page was a must, considering im wearing that big blingy necklace. :)

Thanks for stopping by hope life is great!

Regards Carly

Yes The Alcohol Inks are back out!

So have been Up to a bit of craftiness lately in the craftroom, but no blog posts!, Maybe I still need training in this blogging Department thing... Sometimes It's seems a bit overwhelming... and sometimes it's fun... Just Got to find that balance, that works.... I will Get there!, at least I try.. :-)

Recently We had a Play at the studio at http://scrapmatrix.com/, and got back into some Old techniques that we all love. Yessss!! we got out our alcohol inks and started playing with different backgrounds. We had enough materials in our kit to start a layout or make a few cards. I decided to complete two layouts once I got home!, and you guessed it!, it involved more playing with alcohol inks...  So I came up with two completely different layouts, check out what I created!

Bit Partial to the Butterfly one, think this is my favourite out of these two

And Below is a layout Ive completed for my Penang Holiday Album, Yes look at that Yummy food, Holidays really are about eating! and taking in amazing views..

On this Page I also splashed Some of the Pitch black ink, it is very different to the other colours... and is solid in colour, not transparent or opaque like the others are.. But still you can get some interesting effects. with it.. This layout was done on 12 inch Gloss card by Ranger, its very handy when you want to colour the whole page as I have done here... I used the Ranger blending tool and felt to pounce on the colours and then let some ink drip on the page too... Followed by some stamping on the page.

I love how well the filigree flowers came out, such vibrant colours. To get this solid look we simply just dripped the ink, and let it spread till colour achieved.

So stay tuned Yes, more blog posts to follow, I have been up to a few challenges this month and will share the pages I have created for these.

Berry Springs Nature Walk NT

Exploring the Territory

Last Monday the 8th June we had a public holiday so we went and visited the lovely Berry springs nature Park, we went on a lovely walk through the bush only to discover this lovely boardwalk through the Banyan Trees, it was beautiful and peaceful. I was like arrghh the Serenity!

These Trees all twist around each other, they were amazing to see, and provide lots of shade making it a very pleasant walk

Along the Way we were greeted by beautiful butterflies, one of my favourite creatures, so had to stop an admire them doing there thing! fluttering all over the bush.. looking for colourful things to perch on. I was lucky just to get this shot of one!, they kept moving too quickly for me.

More Banyan Trees!

Ohhh and we were very lucky to find these wild mushrooms!, not sure what species they are as yet, I need to google... But they were just gorgeous, I knew the fairies were near by! Tried to photograph some dragonflies but my attempt failed. :( need more practice

Yes!, I look sunburnt but I wasn't really, just warm from walking :)

We had no idea, that we were going to walk into this pool/Lagoon, just amazing!,  if only I took my bathers!, (must remember next time)

They have protected this area with croc traps and fencing stopping them into here, but you are only allowed to swim here in the dry season if the pool is open

We took a picnic lunch here followed by an ice-cream from the kiosk, we will be returning to Berry springs again, such a lovely day out.

till next time carlz xxxx

My First Wet Season in Darwin 2015

So Its nearly come around to six months we have been living in the Territory, Man time Flies!, We experienced our First Wet Season, And Now its on to the Dry!, I must say it's quite pleasant without the humidity now. We still get the odd day its quite warm, but mostly it's quite pleasant.

When It rains, I love playing in the Rain especially coz its warm and not cold, the park across the road sometimes floods as you can see in these photos when we get a good downpour, it's fun to run across the rd and play in all the water.... All the Neighbours join in too in walking through the water, something we don't get to do much in the Territory, due to our croc friends that live everywhere here :)

Within a very short time, once the rain stops this water quickly disappears into the ground, and you can walk through the park literally that afternoon. it just amazes me how fast it disappears!

The walkways, and bridges under water and sometimes it gets up to the bench seats down there too, and then runs down this creek, lucky know crocs have entered here!...lol

But now it is dry season, and there is not much water left down here at all now, ill miss the rain over the next few months, Now its down to watering all the garden with the sprinklers whilst Mother Nature takes a rest....

And this is what happens at home, every time it rains!, very sludgy grass when this happens but very pleasant sitting outside and relaxing and listening to the rain :)

Enjoy your weekend Carlz xxx

Beautiful Just the way you are

JUNE CHALLENGE - IN THE JUNGLE

Well a new month a new challenge!, Was Totally blown away by this months moodboard!, I think one of my faves so far!  So we had to use Animal Print and circles, was very fun to work with. Below is the Moodboard we received.

And here is the link to there blogpost

This is my take on the challenge, I Had some very special photos of these beautiful beasts my mother in law had sent me on her recent trip to AFRICA, So Had to scrap them. I decided to revisit some old techniques which I love. So I got out my ultra thick embossing enamel and coated all my chipboard pieces, I did several coats on the title to get it nice and Gold... With the leaves I used a pewter and then stamped into the utee.... Another idea I love to do. I cut out all my circles with metal shim and embossed some with my embossing folders, I really need to use them more!

Isnt he just the cutest Putty Cat!!!

Love how everything sparkles and shines in the different lights

So that a wrap on the June Kraft plus challenge,

thanks for stopping by
